Today and 2 days ago, i have learnt deeper about the ideal gas after my self-study. In the 4 assumptions, there is a need to write gas particles instead of gas. in addition, i knew the manipulation of the equation and deviation of graph. Minasa ndoryoku shimasu!

Inside news 1

Calcium carbonate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula CaCO3. It is a common substance found in rock in all parts of the world, and is the main component of shells of marine organisms, snail shells, and eggshells. In 1989, a researcher, Ken Simmons, introduced CaCO3 into the Whetstone Brook in Massachusetts. His hope was that the calcium carbonate would counter the acid in the stream from acid rain and save the trout that had ceased to spawn. Although his experiment was a success, it did increase the amounts of aluminium ions in the area of the brook that was not treated with the limestone. This shows that CaCO3 can be added to neutralize the effects of acid rain in river ecosystems. Currently calcium carbonate is used to neutralize acidic conditions in both soil and water. What a wonderful discovery to benefit the world! However, why aren’t people know about it and use it to neutralize the soil, rather than relying chemical processes, which may be health hazard. Staff room number

Mr Tan, your staff room number is difficult to call through. It is either calling wrong teacher or to no available. Your HP number is important

Atomic structure

From the Wednesday lesson, i have totally understand the how to interpret the distribution of electrons and will be able to draw the electronic structure as a simple diagram. i also know the representation of orbitals as boxes with the electrons. In notation, energy level is in my LHS, type of orbital in middle, and number of orbitals in my top RHS. e.g.1s2. From chemguide, i am not fully understood with the reason of I.E. across the row and down the group but i know the sucessive ionisation energies of an element. If possible, go through the chemguide at the end of the IT Activity. fandamentaru konseputo sadamaru!

Today, I have learnt the behaviour of beams of protons, neutrons and electrons in an electric field. It has to apply Fleming's Left-hand Rule. I have also learnt the S(ingapore), P(olice), D(efence) and F(orce). The four alphabets are type of subshells. Orbituals is not equivalent to electon shell. Principal quantum number refers to electron shell. Tam yabun....

My area of strength in Chemistry is Kinetic Particle Theory, Measurement and Experimental Techniques, Purification and Seperation, Alkanes , Alkenes. However, i may sometime be careless. My area of weakness is Electrolysis, Energy changes, Metal Extraction.
My ambition is to be mathematician/math researcher. I want to enter the Mathematics/Applied Mathematics & Computer Science concurrent degree programmes. The subject prerequisite is an A grade in H2 Mathematics and a good grade in H2 Computing or Physics or Chemistry or Biology. I have chosen this career as I love Mathematics. In this case, I can put in my 100% effort into the career.I know that Mathematics differs from natural sciences in that physical theories in the sciences are tested by experiments, while mathematical statements are supported by proofs which may be verified objectively by mathematicians. If a certain statement is believed to be true by mathematicians (typically because special cases have been confirmed to some degree) but has neither been proven nor dis-proven, it is called a conjectures, as opposed to the ultimate goal: a theorem that is proven true. The Mathematician needs to be positive and cannot disagree to any hypothesis unless a proof has shown.I also hope that Singapore's Mathematics can reach a higher scale.がんばれ。
