1. For any C-C single bond hydrocarbon, suffix -ane- is added to the various prefix to form a hydrocarbon. An example is methane which is the conbination of prefix -meth- and suffix -ane-
2. For making the chemical name, you can add the prefix according to the number of same element bonded. An example is dihydrogen oxide (H2O).
